The story of Harky
On June 17, 2000, we lost a great man when Abram Altschule passed away suddenly as a result of heart failure following complications of his kidney transplant. Heartbreakingly, the day he died was also Father’s Day and his son Josh's birthday.

An amazing person all around and a truly perfect father.

He was the person in the room who captivated others with his jokes and hilarious stories! Abe always loved bringing a smile to kids’ faces. When he was surprised on his 40th birthday with a ‘gag’ gift from his brother and sister, who enrolled him in clown school, he embraced it. It turned out this was something Abe loved doing. Soon, “Harky The Clown” was performing at children’s birthday parties, public functions and even as Santa Claus on the weekends during the holidays. Abe Altschule did all of this because he really loved bringing so much joy and happiness to children even as his health declined. He was the most positive person, and rather than focus on his ailments, he kept making everyone he was around feel special and happy.
